Valorant’s closed beta will start on April 7

Players won’t have to wait long to get their hands on Riot Games’ new tactical shooter. The developer announced on Monday afternoon that Valorant’s closed beta will start on April 7.

The Valorant closed beta will only be available to players with invites. To get an invite, players will have to watch some of their favorite Twitch streamers, who will have beta access as a Twitch drop. Riot’s press release notes that because access will be a Twitch Drop, players will need to connect their Riot accounts with their Twitch accounts, which can be done through the Twitch settings page.

Riot hasn’t specified exactly what the beta will include, but it seems likely that most of the Agents that have been shown off, as well as the two maps that were available to play, will be part of the beta. But for the exact details on the beta, we’ll have to wait for Riot to say more, or for it to be officially released.

There’s no word on how long the Valorant beta will run. The game is set to be released sometime in summer 2020, but Riot hasn’t announced an official release date.
